Visual Identity

The brief

Our brief was to establish a flexible and animated visual identity system that captured the process, essence and personality of John Wardle Architects.

The solution

Writer and academic, Paul Carter, once wrote that "(John) Wardle sketches rapidly and approximately on the assumption that out of this field of lines 'the right line' will materialise…and that at the bottom of the graphic heap there can be found the true, originating line of which the design is generated". Responding to this idea and supported by a pallet of clear language, compelling image making and the ownership of colour, the animated JWA visual identity presents not only the the acronym JWA, but the very essence of John Wardle's ideation process.
