What they said

"Dear 3 Deep, I want to convey to you, on behalf of Thames & Hudson Australia, our delight in the outcome of the publication of Volume: John Wardle Architects and our profound admiration for the design skills and perseverance demonstrated through a long and difficult gestation period. The concept and marshalling of the project combined with the innovative and technically challenging execution, took the book into the highest levels of design and publishing practice. The book benefitted greatly, both in its veracity and production values from your minute attention to detail and intense focus. For your unfailing good humour and professionalism we thank you". – John Ross, Thames & Hudson Australia

"3 Deep created Volume, the book that covers the 21 year history of John Wardle Architects. This was a huge undertaking spanning more than two years. 3 Deep were involved from the outset and worked with JWA, Thames and Hudson, contributing writers and photographers to develop the ideas that would portray the work of our practice in painstaking detail. 3 Deep immersed their agency in every aspect of the production from creating the initial conceptual framework for the book to overseeing (literally) the printing and binding of the book. Creative staff faithfully read the text from each of the contributing writers and developed ideas from linking the theories and observations of each with the thousands of images and drawings from our archive. Invented formats for both the various texts and image collections that extended this analytical representation of our work. Throughout all of this 3 Deep invited us into their home and promoted an open and engaging collaboration with JWA. Volume is a testament to 3 Deep’s intense commitment and inexhaustible creative energies. – John Wardle, Principal John Wardle Architects
