Principal, Mr Buckingham
Robert Buckingham established his exclusive marketing, networking and project management consultancy, Mr Buckingham, in 2006. Mr Buckingham specialises in connecting commerce and creativity through brand diplomacy, business planning, marketing, event direction and strategic collaborations. “By visualizing a brand as a sovereign state, I am always aware of a brand’s economic and cultural objectives, its alliances, its internal politics, its community, its civic responsibilities and its future policy directions. In short, I work as a brand diplomat for my clients, creatively protecting and expanding their interests.”
Robert Buckingham graduated with an LLB/BA from the University of Melbourne. He has a long association with the Australian fashion, design and retail industry as well as government and the arts through his work with The Fashion Design Council of Australia (1984-1990), Craft Victoria (1992-1996) and L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival (1996-2004). As founding Creative and then Festival Director of the Melbourne Fashion Festival for nine years, Robert developed the event into Australia’s most successful consumer focused fashion event.
As well as an ongoing representational role as the Australian Associate for London’s highly influential trends think tank The Future Laboratory, Robert Buckingham collaborates on a range of projects and implementation with design, event management and marketing companies.
