Susan Renouf is a strategic management consultant, specialising in the fashion industry, arts and arts events, and retailing. She is currently an Adjunct Professor of RMIT University, in Fashion & Textiles, and chairs the Industry Advisory Group for the school, acting as an expert advisor on industry matters. She consults to large and small companies in wholesaling and retailing in Australian fashion, and is a public speaker on leadership and retail management and ethical business.

Susan mentors CEO’s and senior executives, particularly in leadership and strategic management. She also works with teams in the Arts Sector on Brand image and development. Susan is Chair of the Melbourne Retail Advisory Board, a joint initiative of the Victorian State Government and the City of Melbourne. She is a member of the Enterprise Melbourne Advisory Board. Between 2005 and 2009 she was Deputy Executive Chair of the L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival, and spent 11 years consulting to the Festival re strategic growth, financial management and brand development. She has been intimately involved with its growth and success.

Susan commenced her career as a buyer in Myer, Miss Melbourne Shop, after completing a Bachelor of Commerce degree at University of Melbourne. She worked with Fibremakers Ltd, for 5 years, covering the international runway collections in London, Milan, Florence, Paris and New York, reporting on trends to the Australian fashion retailing, manufacturing and textile industry. Commencing her own consulting business, she worked closely with such companies as Just Jeans, Country Road, Amco Jeans, Feathers, Puma and Yarra Trail Clothing in their early growth days. Working with the then F.I.A., she established the Australian Fashion Awards of the era, and chaired the judging panel for some years.

Forging strong links with the growing Just Jeans Group, Susan went on to build the buying teams for womenswear, menswear and childrenswear, travelling throughout Europe , the U.S.A., and Asia with the buying group, to build house brand ranges. She was instrumental in building resource bases in China, Korea, India and Pakistan. Susan spent 5 years as General Manager, Human Resources at the Just Group, working specifically on leadership and team-building and change management. She established a Graduate Program for the Group, which was widely recognised as a benchmark in Graduate training programs during the 1990s. Susan now consults independently , working with the Sussan Group, City of Melbourne, Victorian Arts Centre and many smaller clients.
