As self-confessed outsiders of the fashion world, since forming their artistic partnership in 1992, fashion artists Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren have gained critical acclaim for their rebellious approach to design, technical virtuosity, and deep knowledge of fashion history. 3 Deep were commissioned by the National Gallery of Victoria to establish a visceral and highly identifiable campaign supported by an extensive programme of integrated communications.
Throughout their illustrious twenty-year career, Viktor&Rolf have carved a contradictory identity that pushes the boundaries between art and fashion, often contrasting romance and violence, exuberance and control, classicism and rebellion. The campaign sought to excite existing and discerning visitors, while captivating and stimulating emerging patrons, supporting partners and media.
The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is the oldest and most visited gallery in Australia and within the top 25 most visited museums in the world. Situated over two magnificent buildings – NGV International and NGV Australia – the Gallery hosts a wide range of international and local artists, exhibitions, programmes and events; from contemporary art to major international historic exhibitions, fashion, design and architecture.
